Early Years Garden Opening by the Mayor

West Norfolk Mayor Nick Daubney cut the ribbon to officially open a new playground at Middleton Primary School.

The new area for  younger pupils includes a mud kitchen, shelter, easels and paint and outdoor toys.

The all-weather surfaced area is accessible directly from youngsters’ classrooms, providing a free-flow indoor/outdoor space.

Mr Daubney and Mayoress Cheryl Daubney met with headteacher Rachael Greenhalgh, as well as pupils and parents at the opening, which was combined with a welcome day for the school’s 2019 intake.

Office administrator Kelly Rye said: “The children really like it. Every time I go down there they are out there.”

The school is fundraising to buy more equipment for the play area and would like to hear from anyone who could help out.

There are still spaces available for next year’s reception class.

To book a tour or if you can help with fundraising for more play equipment contact the school office on 01553 840234.
