Middleton Church of England Primary Academy is part of the St Matthew’s Federation, that also includes Gayton Church of England Primary Academy.

This strong partnership between schools, staff and communities has been invaluable over the last year while Middleton has experienced serious problems with the school building. Significant flooding in the winter led to large areas of the school to be unusable. Thanks to the hard work of the staff, the support of our families and the established link with Gayton CE Primary Academy we were able to continue to provide education for all our children, with our youngest children being based at Gayton.

This term all the children are based at Gayton CE Primary Academy, while The Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust explore the best future for Middleton CE Primary Academy.

While we acknowledge that the last year has been disruptive and uncertain for our families and staff, we are proud of how we have continued to provide face to face learning, followed our planned curriculum and ensured that we have met children’s individual needs. We are confident that we have continued the planned improvements for the Middleton children, which were always closely linked to our partnership with Gayton CE Primary Academy.

The children have settled well into their new environment and routine. We work hard to ensure that they feel part of the St Matthew’s family, while respecting the Middleton community. As you look through the website you will see just how busy we are in our learning, sport, music, trips and how we promote a distinctive Christian ethos. We know that the St Matthew’s Federation is a very special place to learn and work and it is a privilege to be part of this wonderful community.
